Even though I have been at Bolsa Grande High School for only one year, it has been a great experience. It is very diverse and all of the teachers contribute to the diversity. Additionally, the school prepares all students for college very well and does a great job of promoting a healthy atmosphere.
I really enjoyed my time at Bolsa Grande High School because I got some really nice teachers. Freshmen year started off really rough for me but the teachers are more than willing to help you through everything you struggle with. They are very understanding, all you have to do is ask for their help. Additionally, PE is a class that not many like to take because of the miles we have to run, but they have nice equipment and a wide variety of sports that you can play and it is really fun. Additionally, I have joined more than 7 clubs on this campus and some sports as well. Really nice atmosphere and the clubs are really fun to be in.
I had a good experience overall (but I think the main contributor of that were my friends, not necessarily because of the school). There are definitely some sketchy things going on though.
The school experience in Bolsa Grande is pretty average. I do enjoy the events and assemblies that occur occasionally because each event seems to be filled with a good amount of effort and thought. I wish the school offered computer science classes though.
I rate my experience at Bolsa Grande a four mainly because I appreciate the staff faculty at this school a lot. The teachers I've had over the years always prioritized each student's learning capability. They all take the time to ensure every student's understanding on a lesson, and will go out of their way to do so. The office staff are always there to assist anyone who needs it, and I appreciate their kindness. Lastly, I would like to thank the custodians who always keep the campus clean. To be honest, I think Bolsa Grande has one of the cleanest campuses in the district, if not the cleanest campus. The school is not fully perfect, but the faculty helps create a foundation for every student's success. They motivate some students I know to take action on the school's weaknesses, and I hope those issues help contribute a change.
Bolsa grande is okay. Most teachers are really good at teaching while others are not so good. What I would change is better quality of food and more respectful students.
The teachers are really great and care about their students. They would take the time to help me when I had trouble understanding something. There are also many great clubs, and students have many opportunities to be involved in school activities. I wish all students would throw away their trash properly and stop littering on school campus.
Bolsa Grande has good staffs but the school has very few resources as compared to other districts. Sports are limited, as well as academic AP classes.
This is a great school for students because the teachers and other staff on campus are very supportive of all of their students. They would go out of their way just to help students who are in need of help. Not only do the teachers and staff help out students, but they also help out parents. The school makes sure that they update parents about the school schedule through emailing or calling the parents. Additionally, the campus offers many clubs and has lots of school spirit. The ASB on campus does an amazing job with setting up with the assemblies and getting teachers and students to be involved during the assemblies. Lastly, the school offers after school tutoring and a college readiness program called AVID. In the after school tutoring, there are teacher who stay behind and help students who are struggling in a certain class that they have. While in AVID, the main purpose is to prepare students for college eligibility and success.
Mrs. Nguyen (the Vietnamese teacher) is who made my high school experience great. I owe everything to her.
What I liked about Bolsa Grande High School is that the teachers take their time to help you any way like helping you in your homework. The students are helpful and nice, they are willing to help you in any ways they can as well. However, my experience at Bolsa Grande High school is amazing because they have many clubs and activities that help students who are not outgoing to be more outgoing and bring out their true self’s . Being in High School matures you in many ways and make friends that last for a lifetime. Overall, being at Bolsa Grande high School gave me an amazing and memorable time.
I genuinely think the staff and administration truly care about their students here! The only thing I would complain about is the lack of outside opportunities that they would support students in extracurriculars outside of school. I asked the counselors about outside opportunities for college credit, and they did not know that much. But in terms of everything school-wide, they are really helpful and enthusiastic. This school also has zero-tolerance for racism and discrimination and their students are aware of that. I love the teachers here who have shaped me to the person I am today.
Bolsa Grande High School has many exceptional teachers that contribute to a safe and fun learning environment. The staff is very supportive and gives students many resources to thrive. Teachers are very understanding and do a great job at ensuring their students are getting the most out of their high school experience. Overall, the only thing I wish were different is the variety of classes the school offers.
My experience with Bolsa Grande High School was amazing. Many of the teachers are supportive towards you with your ideas and work. Some may come off as strict and fast-paced, but we can all tell it is because they do teach AP and Honors classes. They push us to do quality work so that we are more prepared with college and the real world. A lot of the teachers are approachable as adults and people you can trust to ask for any problem. The small things that aren't as well with the school is the limited variety of the lunch menu. Also that we may not always have the same resources and budget as other skulls.
During my time at Bolsa, I was involved in color guard which is a sport that involves creating visual athleticism with the incorporation of flags, rifles, and short sticks. Bolsa helped me find a sport that I now love and this helped me be more sociable. The only downfall about this school is the lack of funding for programs/clubs. We are constantly fundraising and finding ways to make money for our clubs. Coming from a low income community it is hard for schools like us to get funding that is not educational, but don’t get me wrong because our teachers do an amazing job providing us with interactive learning experiences. It is just I wished we got enough money to enhance the school.
Bolsa Grande has allowed me to make new amazing friends. I was able to bond with teachers and asked them questions to prepare myself for the future.
The staff are very welcoming and most of the teachers care about the students and their education. There are some rumors regarding some shady teachers, but other than that, almost everything else is great.
