Every interaction I have had with Bluff Creek Elementary from the principal, the support staff, teachers, and even the custodians are fantastic. It amazes me how Joan McDonald, the principal, knows each student by name. Each teacher has been supportive and encouraging to my daughter. I appreciate the open door policy and communication I have received year after year from her teachers.
The PTO the past two years (2014-2015) has been led by committed, super smart parents.
Pockets of parents are uber connected and committed. It's harder when you work outside of the home, but I am thankful for the parents that volunteer at the school, whether it's once or often.
We have two children - one has been through Bluff Creek and one is currently at Bluff Creek. We feel super connected to the parents of the same gender / same grade level as our two kids, but not necessarily to the rest of the school-aged community. It would be nice to find a way to get better connected to others.

It's elementary school - It's great. It's fine. We've been pleased.
Spelling tests and reading assignments have been challenging, but fun.
The new math techniques have been frustrating as a parent and we feel there should be EXAMPLES sent home to better help when kiddos have questions with their math homework. The math textbooks have been disappointing.
