Currently I am enrolled in Blue Valley West High school, this will be my 3rd year attending. After moving several occasions during various stages of my life, I found it difficult at times to fit into certain schools, however, Blue Valley West by far was the easiest school to adapt too. Blue valley West has countless athletic and club opportunities where all students have an equal chance to participate. I believe that out of all the schools I attended, I have never seen a building with more trusted adults. All of the staff is supportive of every student in the building, making every moment and conversation count. I believe that at such a critical and difficult stage of development, it is amazing that this high school has so many adults willing to help in these formative times.
I enjoyed my time at West! Most of my teachers were good and helpful. They made a lot of improvements while I was there like power hour, study areas, and more late arrivals. For me, I know I’ll eventually forget the quadratic formula and the story of Hamlet but I’ll never forget the friendships and memories that have formed throughout these four years. These years completely changed me which I’m sure is true for everyone here. I am not the girl that I was freshman year. I can proudly say that my years at West have prepared me for my future.
Blue Valley West High School is a very good school for students to attend. The teachers are all highly trained, giving their students a very good education. Athletes going to BVW have an opportunity to be apart of some exceptional teams. Artists and performers have the chance to be apart of incredibly programs as well. Even if students don't perform or participate in sports, there will most definitely be a club of their interest. Even though there are many exceptional things about BVW, there is most definitely not a lot of diversity as long as a little problem with students vaping in the bathroom. The school is trying to end the problem with vaping, and the school does inform their students about different cultures. Other than a few cons, BVW is a great option for parents to send to.
