My four years at BVSW have been great! It is more of an artsy school, but athletics and academic clubs have been successful. Teachers care. I am glad that I have been able to attend school there and feel that I am better prepared for college than I would have been back home. Unfortunately, middle of the road, quiet students get lost in the shuffle. But like any senior, I am glad to be leaving soon.

Southwest is the newest school in the Blue Valley school district and it shows in many different ways. The most obvious being the school's facilities. The building's architecture itself is quite appealing as many of the walls are in fact just large windows. Not to mention the athletics facilities with its most impressive features being a soccer stadium, baseball/softball complex, 9 tennis courts, 2 football fields and an indoor and outdoor track. On of the downsides to being a new school is the lack of culture. There is an crucial need for a boost in school spirit in order to keep students from transferring to other schools in the district.
My time at Southwest has truly been the best 4 years of my life. I transferred about 2 weeks before freshman year, not knowing a soul. My life was changed, it was hot and humid, stormy and rainy. It was truly different than anything i had ever experienced, but I made lasting connections with peers and teachers that will forever change my life, for the better! I have made so many strong connections, and I am eager to make more!
