Bloomington is a decent High school. It has been growing with new buildings but much of it is still older. The teachers, for the most part, are kind and try to get students ready for more advanced classes and want them to succeed. There are opportunities for all students in different fields. Recently they have expanded more into STEM areas and offer pathway courses into engineering, Police force, and business. The only negatives are in all classes school spirit is very lacking. Food is another area which needs work either with some days the food looks as if whatever they found was mixed together. Overall the school was largely positive as I gained many opportunities there and grew my skills there with classes that were challenging but not impossible.
I loved the experience overall. I was your typical AP student who filled their plate with more then they could handle but I had a lot of support that got me through these 4 years. The staff are amazing and there are some teachers there who are extremely supportive, the food is okay, security now is also okay but I participated in many clubs and sports. I participated in cross country , track and field my 4 years and those two programs in particular are amazing. Programs such as AVID are also really helpful when it comes to preparing students for college and the AVID staff are world class. The counselors were also extremely caring and very helping when it came to guiding students. There is also a wide range of clubs to participate in as I participated in clubs such as National Honor Society all the way to clubs like chess club. Over the school is fantastic as I never really had any serious problems when I went to this High school.
