This school has a very fun and opportunistic environment! This environment allows for students to be able to engage in amounts that are right for them, having classes that reflect difficulties of all ranges. Though this leads me to the main thing that I think could aim to improve about this school is mainly the social environment. While this school has many opportunities to learn, there are also many students who may potentially distrupt one’s learning. This is still outweighed by the learning opportunities that this school presents. It is just something that would lead to an even more improved environment.
Overall, BHHS is a great environment for any student who not only wants to challenge themself academically, but who wants to have opportunities for numerous clubs, sports, and other extracurriculars. We have a TON of courses, including APs and IBs, compared to other high schools- I couldn't even count them. The counseling staff, or at least my counselor Mrs.Klein, is very supportive, knowledgable, and helpful as long as you take initiative for an appointment. The sports teams are good & quite a few are pretty competitive, but if you want a chill pace there is always JV. Football games and rallies are pretty hype if you're into that. The music department is great and performances from choir to theatre are always on point- shoutout to Mrs.Riley! And not only are there a ton of clubs, but there's always people making new ones so you can def make one if you want. The only thing that isn't the BEST is the cafeteria food, and how the attendance policy is increasingly stricter. That's all!
As a senior at Bloomfield Hills High School, my journey has been nothing short of transformative and unforgettable. The past four years have been a whirlwind of growth, self-discovery, and memorable experiences. From the first day, I felt the welcoming spirit of the school community, with teachers and staff dedicated to our success. The diverse range of clubs, sports teams, and extracurricular activities allowed me to explore my passions and make lifelong friends. As graduation approached, a mix of nostalgia and excitement filled the air. Looking back, I cherish the late-night study sessions, cheering at football games, and the meaningful conversations with teachers who inspired me to dream big. Bloomfield Hills High School has prepared me for the next chapter of my life, leaving me with cherished memories and a sense of pride in being a Black Hawk. I'm grateful for the experiences that have shaped me into the person I am today.
