Blacksburg High School is very appealing in many aspects. The academics are strong and competitive among the students. College preparation and readiness is a big factor with the teachers, which I appreciate. There are numerous clubs and activities to join. Even though the diversity might not be the highest the clubs helps everyone enjoy each others cultures. It is one of the safest schools I have ever been to and attended. College readiness and preparation is a major factor among the administrators. Counselors and administrators are always there to help no matter what the problem or situation is.
Blacksburg High School has exceedingly good academic and athletic opportunities. The teachers are all invested in their students' education and truly want the best for them. There are so many classes to choose from AP and honors courses, art classes, and career and technical classes. The athletics are also well known. Blacksburg almost always has multiple state champions whether they be a team or an individual. The only "bad thing" about Blacksburg is often the administration fails to communicate with the student body about things that will directly affect them. Overall my experience and education there has been very good.
Most teachers are great! However, some ap teachers don't do a good job preparing students for ap exams, so make sure to utilize college board resources to prepare. Overall, Blacksburg High School is a good school.
