Watterson is a good school academically, and has many different class options for different learners. The different levels make it so those who excel in a certain subject are challenged, and so that those who may struggle more can go at a slower pace to help them understand better. Watterson also offers many different clubs and sports, so there are so many ways to get involved in the school. It would be difficult to not find something interesting to join there. However, Watterson has lacked in mental health outreach, specifically for freshmen. But they continue to work on it and have made great improvements in the past few years.
Exemplary focus upon Christ and serving the world by evangeling others to Catholic Christianity with thought, word, and deed. The commitment to the mission is apparent from administrators, teachers and staff. Parents and other family members are highly involved and effective in transmitting the culture of dedication to the faith. Students are engaged, successful and appreciative. Our senior has had the best high school experience we could have imagined. We are forever blessed by, and grateful for, the "Watty" years!
Bishop Watterson High School is a Roman Catholic High School. It is great because you get to learn about your faith and you are able to talk openly about your faith questions. This is something that cannot be done at most public schools due to the freedom of religion in the First Amendment. The classes are harder than the average public school. This is advantageous because I will be more prepared for the rigorous lifestyle in college. The teachers are caring yet strict. This instills manners into the students at Bishop Watterson High School.
Though there are many advantages to attending Bishop Watterson for High School, there are some disadvantages as well. Since it is a religious High School, it is hard to talk about controversial topics in a classroom setting. This is hard for high school students because this is the age in which students begin to formulate their beliefs and values and want to debate said beliefs.
