Bishop O'Connell High School Reviews
Rating 4.03 out of 5 228 reviews
During my time at Bishop O'Connell, my identity as a Catholic was thoroughly culminated through the frequent and active prayers, services, and activities organized by Campus Ministry. Soup drives, clothing drives, school-wide processions, as well as school-wide mass furthered the sense of community that DJO, and the Catholic faith, strive for. My time at O'Connell was also greatly characterized by the Girls Varsity Soccer Team, where I met my best friends, and where we took back-to-back Catholic State Champion titles. Our fall season was characterized by intense energy on the field and the sidelines, as well as daily practice which brought each of the girls closer together. Finally, the worst part about my four years at O'Connell was the time each class was separated into cohorts during the Covid-19 pandemic. The entirety of the year, the school was empty and cold as a result of constantly being at half capacity. However, the following year, the sense of community completely returned.
Bishop O'Connell is a fantastic school for academics, athletics, and fine arts. The teachers and coaches are caring, supportive, and have a strong desire to help students on their pathways to success and the time they dedicate to sharing their knowledge, demonstrates that. I've developed tremendous leadership skills and confidence during my four years at O'Connell. I know I am prepared for college not only in academics but also in how I serve the community in which I live. I'm grateful for the guidance my teachers and coaches have selflessly shared with me, and I know I am a better person for having been a Bishop O'Connell student.
O’Connell is a great school! There’s lots of nice people there which provides for an amazing learning environment. The traditions and close connection to Christ the school shares make your 4 years at O’Connell something to remember. The teachers and staff there are always happy to be there which is obvious when you learn about how hard they worked to get us back in school in the middle of a pandemic, of course following all the guide lines to help keep us all safe. I truly recommend O’Connell to anyone who wants a high school experience to remember
