The homework load is pretty intense, although I hear the administration is lowering it for every sequential year. BG’s a great school, and is currently going through some dress code updates. I’d recommend the place to upcoming highschoolers looking into sports AND smarts!

Bishop Guertin High School is a hit or miss. The classes are challenging depending on what teachers you get and at times seem like not worth the money. I have learnt study skills and organizational skills but no skills for adulthood (like money management, cooking classes, or even a simple woodshop class). The school is has a lot of cliches and features a lot of bullying. Everyone's experiences are different but I would not recommend it. I was told coming here would give me a competitive edge but I got accepted into my top school with no scholarship or financial aid, the same as someone from the local high school ( despite having a higher gpa and better extracurriculars). However, I feel I am ready for college - just not the years following.
Bishop Guertin's staff and faculty is 100% hands on. Students are academically challenged and encouraged to excel. A wide variety of AP courses are offered. Excellent communication weekly informing parents & students of school events and happenings. This school begins preparing students for college admission as early as their Junior Year. Very strong and impressive sports teams. Weak in the arts and music, not supported as much. Very safe environment, students and staff are well respected.
