Bishop Grimes is on a more secure footing now that they are becoming an independent Catholic school. They are rapidly improving facilities, athletic fields, and course offerings, particularly in art and music.

They are integrating technology into the classroom in a more meaningful way and have recently hired some more rigorous teachers in the sciences.

The school does not tolerate bullying and discipline is strict, so students feel very safe.

Community service is a big part of the school, so Catholic teachings are encouraged in very positive ways.

They have a great liaison with Lemoyne College (nearby Jesuit college of excellent quality), so outstanding students can take classes there at a steep discount.

On the negative side, it would be even better if they had more choices for elective courses; and the Catholic thing must be oppressive for those who aren't Catholic, as it seems overwhelming even for some of us who are Catholic!

Improvements in academics, faculty additions and course offerings over the past few years have been a definite plus. Music and arts upgrades have also been very good. Staff turnover in some areas (atheletics, guidance), while including some good additions, has also created some challenges. Overall, a good experience.
My experience with Bishop Grimes high school was different, its a lot to do. Your never bored, from plays to concerts, to sports, you'll always be interacted. Some things I would change about the school is that it maybe needs to be a little more diverse. I also think they should be more fair about there choices with certain students. As in disciplinary actions.
