Bishop Dwenger High School Reviews
Rating 4.1 out of 5 288 reviews
This school has really helped me find what I want to do in life. I've made so many new friends! From the academics, to the teachers, and even the extracurriculars, it has helped me find my way. Being raised by a single mom comes with challenges. I've found friends in similar situations that I can relate with. When picking classes at BD, there are choices and requirements that help fulfil our interests.
Dwenger High School has a robust curriculum and teaching style that incorporates and promotes Catholic beliefs. The staff and teachers strive for student success while displaying a good representation of Catholic demeanor. The school itself is very clean and well-kept with regular renovations that are beneficial to the school. The school actively promotes good choices and well-behaved students with fun programs and monthly rewards in classes. Dwenger cares about their sports teams and announces their victories and names with morning announcements and has run-throughs for the teams before big games. The school has regular all-school mass, all-day adoration, and regular confessions to provide students with the capability of strengthening their Catholic faith along with theology classes. The school is located in a fantastic place and provides a solid teaching style that helps students succeed while increasing their Catholic values.
My high school experience was far from normal, due to COVID 19, but Bishop Dwenger did the best with what they had to work with. Despite COVID, Bishop Dwenger embodied what it mean to be an academic, athletic, and spiritual student. For academics, it offered me a variety of valuable classes I needed to prepare me for college, especially the AP class courses I took. The teachers provided me with all the resources and information I needed to pass my classes. Now not all the teachers were perfect, but that's to be expected. Next, the amount of clubs and sports it offers, allowed me participate in several, which led me to be active within the school and enjoy it, especially at football games. Lastly, the spiritual aspect of the school furthered by faith through the Mass, confession, and adoration. However, Dwneger needs to better represent the faith outside of class. Also, improvement in the acceptance of diversity and better lunches would be nice to see.
