Overall, I had a pretty solid experience at West High. The facilities could use some updates and the administrators could work a little harder. The teachers were great, and extracurricular clubs and sports were awesome. And although the school isn’t that diverse, it does well academically. It could use some updated resources, but I felt set up for college when I graduated. West is Best!

Billings West High School is one of the more popular high schools in Billings, however it does have some drawbacks. If I'm anything, I'm honest, and in all honesty, West can do better. Although teaching and academics are very good within the school, I think the administration could do more to help each and every student get the most out of high school as possible. West High could become better by doing background checks on their teachers, in order to know that they are hiring people who care about the student's wellbeing rather than just their test scores. There are a plethora of student activities students can join, including drama club, sport teams, speech and debate, plus more. West High also cares about the arts in an equal amount to sports, which can be rare throughout high schools today.
I will start with the good things about this school. I feel like this year, they are putting in more effort to make the students feel more safe/prepared when looking at the shootings that have been happening all over the country. They also employ some amazing teachers who have mastered teaching their subject and educate the students excellently.
Next and the not so good things. First off, this school does not have an AC system, so that means that the first and last two months of the school year is uncomfortably hot. These conditions make it hard to focus and concentrate on work. Second, the halls are overcrowded and they definitely have the space to build a bigger school to make their students feel more comfortable. Lastly, last year they cancelled the spring sports assembly because neither of their basketball teams won state. Many of the students who were in golf and other spring sports were very disappointed because their wins and achievements would not be recognized.
