My experience at Big Picture has been so far amazing. I'm currently a senior that's looking to graduate in 2020 and it has been nothing but excitement and college readiness at this school. I've had so many internships, they really push you to figure out what you want to do when you graduate where a lot of traditional schools don't even try to prepare you for college. It's a very small school but that just means you have more one on one time with teachers and get to form bonds with them! I think the most unique thing about Big Picture is that you stay with the same teacher for four years so you can really form that trust and friendship with them. This school is definitely not easy and really likes to challenge your learning with projects and internships. Probably one of the most influential schools to date.

Highline Big Picture is structured around individual learning. If you desire to become a blacksmith, you're encouraged to go out in the real world to research and even gain an internship with a blacksmith. This is why I enjoy this school. Being able to go out and gain a far deeper understanding of my interests allows me to know whether I want to pursue the interest further or move on to pursue another.
Through my time in Big Picture, I gained more of an authentic experience in the field of concept art. I now have a more focused goal for my post-high school career.
The only issue is that this type of school structure is not for everyone. There are portions of the regular high school experience that Big Picture would lack. But looking past having a "regular high school experience" and going to Big Picture allowed me to excel in my passion farther and faster than others.
What I liked about Big Picture are the small classroom sizes, which is helpful to get one-on-one time with teachers. I liked the career exploration projects we did, and the excellent internships that came because of it.
