Administration seems to have no idea what they're doing half of the time and we have been audited by the State of California more than once in the time that I've been here. However, it feels very safe to go to school here and the actual academics are pretty good.
BHHS has a great education and good teachers. Academics wise, it's excellent. The only problem is the students. This school is mostly filled with rich or Persian kids and a lot of them are immature with no intentions on trying their best. It's harder to connect with them if you have different values as those(about 70%) that go to SMC, or other community colleges. Otherwise, it's generally a good school.
AP Classes can be extremely demanding! I have attended other high schools in the past but the coursework, stress, and pressure placed on students in advanced courses is outstanding. Even the honors courses are extremely demanding. I have heard of many Honors and AP courses having frequent pop quizzes- specifically AP Psych and Honors Pre Calc. Non honors classes are less likely to have pop quizzes. Highly recommend the duel enrollment program or online AP Classes (both can be taken for a fee). Additionally, the school requires a mandatory Government and Econ class to graduate. If you are a transfer student, highly recommend fulfilling these requirements at your current school or taking the classes online. It will make it easier for you! Don’t be afraid to confide in the college center and your counselor for college apps. School has many nice people although some can be rude (kind of a mixed bag). School has great resources like NormanAid which has free therapy and stress management.
Beverly Hills High School had a strong Vocal Music Program and Theater Department. We were not only taught to find our voice but to find support within one another as we all pushed to create something beautiful with our work ethics and need to grow. I would love to see that move throughout the rest of the school -- strengthen our school spirit and rise together.
great AP teachers and overall high school experience. students get into great schools - ivy leagues and many of the UCs.
Great classes with teachers who care. The basketball team and girls soccer are the best sports and very fun to watch.
The school is in a nice area and they do their best to take care of the students. The students aren't the best but the teachers are well educated and do their best to teach.
The school is very run down and half the main building has been under construction for multiple years. The sports are an important part to the high school life at Beverly.
I liked many of the teachers they were very motivated and helped easily transmit concepts. I also liked the system in place for getting necessary books and signing up for new classes
Beverly is a great school with lots of good people and good teachers. However, there are a few that really bring the area down.
Beverly High has great teachers and academics, however there is little to no school spirit and student involvement. Finding the right friend group is key to having an enjoyable experience there.
Overall it is a okay school. But with teachers it is a hit or miss. Most of the AP/honors teachers are much more likeable and care for their students + have a genuine interest in wanting their students to succeed. The athletics are not good. But it’s mainly since the students who participate prioritize school and other things above it, so it isn’t taken seriously. The school isn’t diverse either, most of the students are persian/Jewish and definitely creates the culture at our school. I believe Beverly will prepare you for any college if you take on a sturdy course and use the resources given at school (clubs/electives/college counselor/ teachers/etc)
I like this school! Its super cool and I think that everybody should come here. I like my teachers and the Kids in my class. The sports are cool
Amazing School! I really enjoyed my experience at BHHS as I had other high schools to compare it with (I transferred junior year). Top notch academics and your kids will be in good hands and super prepared for the college transition. The most important thing is to take advantage of the AP courses, which is where you will find the best teachers, opportunities and develop life long skills as a scholar.
Has potential to strive to be one of the best schools across the nation but lacks educational support to help prepare students for higher education or future careers.
As a alum of Beverly Hills High School, I have felt the lack of preparation for college. I have suffered serval years of academics due to weak support of teachers and other eduacaiton staff. The school did not serve the students the support they need in order to help them create a pathway for success.
Within my 4 years, I have had serval teachers forced to resign due to unprofessional teaching skills. Lack of proper education has weaken my confidence as a current and soon to be UCLA graduate. Luckily as a recruited student athlete, I was able to attend the school of my dreams. But attending Beverly Hills High has not prepared me or has strengthen me the skills I needed to perform academically. Athletically the school has supported all my decisions regarding competition and representation.

The teachers in the honors and AP programs tend to be amazing but outside of that don't expect much.
Majority of teachers were pretty good, decent campus, but student body had 0 school spirit. A bunch of teenagers that hated life and hated one another. Majority don't even smile at each other in the hallway. Basically impossible to be happy there.
