My time in BRHS was unique. Because of the culture, the school includes Alaska Native activities to get students involved. Technology plays a big role in our school. Students were given laptops to take home with them and use for school. The staff also tries to prevent problems in our school including suicide. Suicide is a big problem in Alaska. As of 2019, studies show that Alaska has one of the highest suicide rates in the US. Because our school is the first school in Alaska to have a school shooting, violence is something that is trying to be prevented.
For changes, I suggest that they improve on food provided. Our school is eligible for free lunch, so selections of good food are scarce. I think the school spends way too much money on technology rather than spending it on whats important. They gave every single student a laptop to use for the school year. They also setup every single classroom with Apple TVs, and have about 100 iPads that are shared by students and teachers.

The school is kind of run down. The cafeteria is beautiful. The bathrooms are disgusting. The teachers are pretty nice and the class sizes are moderate.
Born and raised in Bethel, Alaska. I love the small town, and people. The one public high school isn't for everyone, you know everyone and see the same people everyday. You can grow up with each other and see each other grow into amazing young adults. Everyone is looking out for each other, and there is always some one willing to help you out.
