I have been at Berwick since the 6th grade and have never regretted my decision of coming here. I have always enjoyed our teachers' willingness to see us succeed, the students who create a caring and accepting community, and of course the challenging (but manageable) academics. The teachers and students are all at Berwick because they want to be here. It's well known that at private schools teachers get paid less than their public school counterparts.
Berwick does a great job in terms of college counseling. They are almost always available to help you through the challenging college process. I felt like my advisor had a true connection and want to see me achieve my college goals. Being a small tight-knit community everyone is very welcoming and tend to fall into one of the wide range of friend groups at BA. Overall, I highly recommend Berwick for their college prep (academics), college counseling, and community. I truly feel prepared for college and the challenges it will present me.

I was a Berwick student for four years. I love this school and I couldn't imagine having gone to high school anywhere else. The friendships and connections I have made at this school have changed my life forever, and the atmosphere has made me, ultimately, a better person. Naturally, it is predictable that a student would universally progress throughout high school, but Berwick truly fosters this growth in a way that is friendly, providing the occasional nudge in the right directions. That being said, some aspects of the student culture are toxic, with a clear divide between students who are grotesquely wealthy and those who are simply there on their own merit and intelligence. The upper schools seems to revolve around the varsity hockey team, members of which are exempt from school rules. Overall, this is a terrific school, and I strongly recommend it to any 8th graders looking for a solid high school experience.
Berwick has helped me so much with not only college placement, but athletics, music, and overall academic advancement as well. I've learned so much while on the Hilltop, and I really think the school looks less on what you can do for it than what it can do for you. We've had some amazing college acceptances this year to the top schools in the nation and Berwick truly embraces all aspects of community building, broadening perspectives, creating tolerance and acceptance, and personal development. I would tell anyone looking at New England prep schools to apply to Berwick Academy!
