Despite being in Reading, PA, Berks Catholic provides a safe environment for learning. There is a big focus on math and science. The school is family oriented with very involved parents and a strong support system. It may sound strange but, if BC could do anything different, it would be to streamline their communications. The school sends out lengthy, frequent communications making it difficult to determine what to read when time is limited. As a result, we tend to miss some important messages.
Good school, football program changed my life for the better. Father Isaac and Deacon Lanciano are incredible and can change lives. Business club was a great opportunity and the time of my life up to that point. Kairos was another great expirience. Freshman year can be difficult for many students coming from small feeder schools as they basically have to speed run the middle school social environment in a matter of months. Didn’t go tremendous for me. Some teachers like Mrs. Hoffman in social studies go above and beyond and are great. Luck of the draw it feels like depending on your teacher. I would recommend this school over most Berks Public schools, especially if you are Catholic or an athelte.
Berks Catholic is an inclusive environment who cares about each and every individual student. Their 4 pillars of God, Academics, Family, and Fun are present in student life everyday. From weekly mass, to sporting events, to band concerts, there is always something going on at BC for everyone to enjoy. Teachers and staff always want the best for their students and will stop at nothing to ensure that. The rigorous curriculum is great for any student freshmen to senior. I’ve made my best friends here and want to thank Berks Catholic for making that possible.
