Berkeley is a great school. Lots of amazing teachers who really care about their students academic growth and well being. Children are challenged with an exciting, broad curriculum that prepares them well for high school. Middle schoolers get to try as many sports as they want. High school students are offered a good number of courses with levels giving everyone a chance to be challenged and succeed . There is a myriad of Extracurricular activities and the school is generally open to students interests, so if they are interested in a club that does not exist they will likely be able to form one. The investment in and quality of high school sports varies depending on sport, so there is room for improvement there. The arts program is very good. I have been impressed by their theater performances. I am happy we made the decision to have our kids at Berkeley.
This was a great school for my child. It had tremendous opportunities for my child to find their passions, be involved in sports, clubs, community activities, choir, band and school functions. The academics are second to none, the athletics are stellar and the teaching staff is amazing. If I could change anything it would be to make kids more responsible for their belongings and their actions regardless of social/financial status.
I love Berkeley. I've been attending this school since I was in 6th grade, and I am currently a senior. The teachers, counselors, students, staff, resources, facilities, opportunities, and community is spectacular. Sometimes, though, I feel that the administration is lacking. They are somewhat conservative, and don't deal well with students who are different, who aren't straight, cis, white. I believe that they are generally passably supportive and safe, but if I were to fix one thing that would be it.
