I love that the school offers high level classes to advance student. Also, hands on classes and threater. The sports field is very competitive to the other schools around. I don't see much that need to be change except the school lunches more teenager style.
It was average experience seeing as how I was only there my last years, Although I will say that it was way bigger than my last school.
My experience at Berkeley High School has been great. If I didn't come to this school when I did, I honestly don't know what i would be doing with my life right now. This school has given me some great friends, including my girlfriend who i met at this school. I plan on marrying her once I graduate from this school.
For the past 3 years that I have been there, it has honestly been a great experience. When I switched schools and I had no friends the teachers and my peers were so friendly. The teachers are amazing as well. Also, barely any fighting or any no sense. I love my high school
I did meet the best friends I could ask for. But I would not suggest Berkeley if you had the option. It just wasn't the school for me.
There are many pros and cons of Berkeley High School. One pro would be the sports. Berkeley High is known for its great achievements in sports. One con would be that it is too focused on sports than other clubs and academics.
I had an excellent experience at Berkeley High! I'm a woman of color and with the vast amount of orgs/clubs you can join, I easily found a comfy community! I took advantage of the cultural clubs and made some really great memories. I loved (almost) every single one of my teachers and found that it was really easy to build strong relationships with them. And once you have that 1:1 connection, it really sets you up for success. Even though BHS is huge, it brought diversity and allowed me to meet all kinds of people. I did IB all four years and even though it is lacking POC representation (in the classroom) and is infamously the "harder" SLC, I loved it. It provided me with a really strong academic environment where I met some of my most supportive and best friends! The resources BHS provides are also amazing and accessible, I spent a lot of my time in the CCC, math tutoring hours, and more. Even after graduating I plan to keep in touch with many of my teachers!
Berkeley is a large school with many kind, caring, and attentive teachers. There are fun sports and clubs at the school making it easier for students to branch out and find something that interests them, which could benefit students later in life when trying to figure out what career would be best for them.
Great teachers and staff. This is a very well organized and fun school to go to and it is such a privilege to be able to attend.
I loved Berkeley High School, I enjoy my 4 years there. I met great people and was apart one for the best graduating classes ever.
What I liked about my school, was that I met a lot of good people, including my friends and my boyfriend. I also had a lot of good teachers that wanted me to reach for the stars. However, there are fights from time to time, and a lot of drama and negatvity.
I like how Berkeley High School is involved in making sure every child gets a good education. I would like to see a change in the diversity because sometimes they allow certain students to get away with certain clothing because of their skin color. For example, if a black girl comes to school with shorts on that they think is inappropriate she’ll get sent home. If a white girl comes to school with shorts on that are no school appropriate no one says anything.
I liked spirit week and how everyone participates in everything. I would like to see a change in the food options in the cafeteria though.
berkeley only really cares about sports, not academics. many great teachers though. none of the faculty cared about the ib program. school only focuses on dual credit for upper classmen, nothing else
Liked that it was very close to my home, love the friendships I've created, love some of my teachers.
I enjoy the sports offered at Berkeley High School and the higher and more rigorous curriculum that you can take. A few changes could be made such as more diversity in electives, a better and more mixed school culture, and more resources relating to colleges.
I love the traditions Berkeley High School has kept for so many years and their encouragement for their students to get out in the real world or to pursue a further education. However, I would like to see more administration get involved with their students. Many teachers are well-rounded and really get involved with students in the classroom, outside of class, and in club organizations. Coaches are encouraging in many sports and work within the schools and also provide encouragement for student involvement. Our school could use newer facilities but there are plenty of janitorial staff that work hard to keep our school clean.
