I still remember my 4 years at BC like it was yesterday. The daily challenge that was presented in class made going to school interesting every day. We were taught how to examine issues from all sides and come to our own conclusions and most importantly use facts to defend them. This prepared me for college so that I was far more at ease than many of my peers.
Although BC is know for its athletic success in many sports, the academic accomplishments are driven by competition in the classroom as well.
The list of schools that BC graduates attend is a list of some of the top and most selective Universities in the country.
Athletes and non-athletes alike participate in a wide selection of clubs and activities and everyone becomes a member of the lifetime Brotherhood that grows stronger and bigger every year.
To this day many of my closest friends sat in a BC classroom with me more than 35 years ago.

Overall, I expected more from this school given it's reputation and cost. I expected better strategy & less politics/favoritism. However, here are the pros&cons. Pros: boys do feel a 'brotherhood', no girl drama so more focus, more respect for teachers &rules, Technologically advanced, School is clean and secured. Cons: BC reputation, politics & favoritism gets in the way of what's best for students. Sports is an example - Some kids don't make teams or play much due to favoritism. The basketball program is an example - it's created to get BC wins vs. to better the player or get college recruitment opportunity. Some talented kids are benched lowering their self esteem and leaving them confused. A lot is done on their laptops /ipads so kids become addicted to their devices, their eyesight suffers & they text/play games during class. The boys steal each other's sweaters, shoes, etc. This didn't happen in public school so why is it happening at a private school?
I had a great experience at Bergen Catholic High School. The environment was surreal, with an incomparable culture and energy. After finishing my fourth year at the school, I seriously do believe that these 4 years would not have left me as satisfied at any other school, public or private for that matter. Though the school was amazing, nothing is perfect and there were some flaws in the system. If I had the opportunity to change one thing about the school, it would definitely be the food in the cafeteria. The kitchen could use some fix-ups in food. The overall adventure has been an unbelievable one that I will never forget.
