To start with, BHS is an absolutely massive school that does its best. However, there are definite problems that come with the school directly related to the massive population. There is no sense of community, and bullying is a serious issue. Probably 7/10 students have no emotional regulation or empathy. The bathrooms, destroyed during the "devious lick" trend, have been wastelands for going on three years now. That means most bathrooms have no soap, one mirror, no toilet paper, unflushed toilets, and copious swastikas (at least for the boys' bathroom).
HOWEVER.
The funding definitely shows in the academics. There are tons of classes, AP or otherwise, to choose from. All of the teachers I've had have been great and supportive. We also have many opportunities for students to keep their grades up. My teachers all seem to really want me to succeed, and the school also tries its best to make up for the massive income inequality with free computers. The cafeteria food is also really good!

I definitely think that Bentonville High School is an amazing school. There are so many incredible opportunities for students, including participation in the Ignite program, Capstone Diploma program, International Baccalaureate, and dual enrollment with North West Arkansas Community College. My only complaint is that as a sophomore-year transfer, I was not given information on these opportunities and had no idea what they were until it was too late to participate. This is a minor setback compared to the ample opportunities I did receive. There is a class for everyone here, including agriculture classes, computer science classes, and tons of art classes. The food is amazing, with choices between nachos, sandwiches, pizza, chicken nuggets, and a grab-and-go cooler with various drinks and snacks! Did I mention there is an ice cream freezer? The teachers are amazing, supportive, and set students up for success. I feel prepared for college and I couldn't be more grateful for BHS!
I've never really had a bad experience at Bentonville High School. They have almost every level of difficulty in courses you could imagine and even more that you may not think of. I'm really blessed to be at a school that looks to constantly build students' potential both in academics and in life. They have spent their expenses in favor of improving the high school lives of the students on campus and make sure that each of us have room to succeed. This school has programs to benefit students in their future studies and courses that relate to them taught by experienced teachers in the subject. Each teacher that I've had has made their teaching understandable and engaging with most going out of their way to take private time in and out of class to help students in what they're struggling with. These teachers actually CARE and that's what every student needs. Learning isn't just a one-person feat, it's a team effort. And the teachers here know this. I'm so grateful to be a BHS Tiger!
