I am an alum and a parent of a current student. Franklin has always had a stellar reputation, but the school has changed a lot since I was a student - for the better! There is so much more support for incoming Freshmen: A mandatory study skills class, teacher office hours, peer tutoring, and a great staff of counselors. It's a much kinder, gentler school without having sacrificed quality. Teachers are inspired, students are ambitious and hardworking. It's a great environment in which to be a high achiever. Everyone is in the same boat, so there are no social outcasts who are labeled as "nerds." It also has a very active club network, which is a great way for new students to connect. I also highly recommend "Franklin Prep" for incoming Freshmen. It's a 2-week summer program that takes place the summer before school begins. It exposes students to a little taste of the academic picture while allowing them to learn their way around the school and meet some of their new classmates.

Overall, Benjamin Franklin High School is a good institution. The academics are very challenging and allow for students to prepare for college. Their are several options for dual enrollment and AP classes. Though the work is rigorous, Benjamin Franklin provides tutoring services in order for students to succeed. Benjamin Franklin High School has a great climate. The only downside is that because the school is so diverse and many people have different life experiences, problems can occur. These differences of opinion are usually resolved quickly, though. There are several cub options at the school. The school encourages everyone to create new ones and connect with each other more. Benjamin Franklin is a great school to attend because it enriches the minds of its students as well as their social skills.
Ben Franklin was tough but without a doubt prepared me for college. It gives you the study skills and time management required to get through college, which are skills that I utilize every day. I am grateful for the work I did at Ben Franklin because I ended up coming in to college with over a semester worth of credits, which means I will be able to graduate early!
