“College preparatory” doesn’t even begin to describe Benet. Over the past three years, I have grown so much as a student. The way I view school has changed completely- I actually want to understand everything I’m learning and not just memorize the pages, scribble it all down on the tests, and then forget it all. This school has challenged me and accustomed me to harder work loads, which makes college seem a lot less scary than it did before I came to Benet. If someone is thinking of enrolling in this school, they are definitely not making a mistake. Just be warned- a good mindset is key. If a student decides to just blow off their homework and use their iPad for just games during class, then they definitely should go here! If anyone is looking for good preparation for college and building close relationships in a tight-knit community that feels like family, consider becoming a Redwing!

Benet was such a great experience! While I graduated years ago, I still feel very much part of the Benet community. I now understand why so many parents move back to the area so their children can go to school there.

The school really transforms the total student. The workload is insane, but the teachers really care and want to see the students succeed. The teachers are also highly educated and passionate about what they do. One potential drawback is you could have one teacher assign 4x the workload of another teacher in the same subject-seems a bit unfair at times. However, that is the magic of Benet...each teacher has freedom to construct his/her perfect class as long as he/she covers the basics.

I also like how the admin and teachers try to draw all the kids into activities. They want involved students. Your peers there area all incredibly bright, motivated students. I'm so grateful my parents suggested I shadow at Benet.
I absolutely loved my time at Benet. I am in college now and I feel that Benet prepared me very well! I find my classes to be easier and I am more used to the workload of homework projects and tests. The teachers were so friendly and always willing to help and I still keep in contact with some of them. I taught my math class something that my calculus teacher in high school taught me that made a concept much easier. I also played sports at Benet; I swam and played volleyball and lacrosse. I am so grateful for my coaches and teammates that made me a better teammate. I would not be were I am today had it not been for Benet and I am so grateful for the time that I had there.
