My experience at Belton Honea-Path High school has been good but not excellent. I have had good teachers and earned good grades because they taught very well and I understood the criteria. The staff is very nice and teachers, administrators, and other staff will say hey with a smile on their faces. My overall experience at BHP has been good and I would like to see the spirit of BHP change. It can be fun and enjoyable at times but not all them time. People do not seem to get excited about things as they use too. So I would like to see that change and also I would like to see the teaching styles to change. I would like to see things slowed down and teachers actually take more time and teach the lessons they have planned. Everything seems rushed not because it's BHP fault but today times everything is so fast paced. So I would like to see the teaching to slow down and teachers take time and teach the lesson thoroughly.
If you ask me if I'm ready to graduate high school and head to college, my answer would be an hard no! I love my high school and all the administrators that I have had the pleasure of getting to know over the past 4 years. When you start school you can't wait to finish. That's what I always thought too, until this year. My high school years have literally flown by and I wished I could slow it down. I will have a lot of last this year, but I am excited to start a new journey at the college of my choice.
During my four years at Belton-Honea Path High School I sometimes feel that there were times where some of the students went unheard. Bullying was said to not be tolerated but occured multiple times, racism was present if not all the time, and although understandable virtual learning wasn't a breeze. It overall was a good time however, there is a lot that this school could fix for now and the generations to come.
