I went to Belmont my freshman year, half of my junior year and senior year. There are study tables after school with great tutors to help. They have a program called Educational Talent Search which helps students find their interests and pursue them in college. They gives students tours to different colleges/universities their junior and senior year. Counselors call students down daily months before graduation to give them lists of scholarships to apply for. It would be nice if they had a class about what to expect after high school: cost of living in Ohio, car insurance, bills, career-development, scholarships to apply for, making a resume, interview expectations, budgeting skills, and credit cards. These are great things to learn and know. They can also improve their graduation rate. They need to focus a lot more on getting kids not to drop out.

When I first came to Belmont High School it used to be a below average school. This was the year of 2014, it used to be tons of people in the hallways constantly. Teachers would barely teach the students, I used to have to bring my mom up the the school once a week just so that the teachers would be able to get on the same understanding as myself. The building was always dirty as if we did not even have janitors. Our sports were just pure terrible. But when the new principle ( Ms. Walter) Stepped in the building she hired new teachers, made sure we had security in the halls keeping the kids in class and also brought in another athletic director. It is the year of 2018 and I would have to say that our school does not even seem like a Dayton public school but seems like it may even be a top school in the stat. It makes me proud to say that i will be graduating as a Bison.
there are great hard working teachers that have to work with hardhead without the crazy trouble skipping kids, this school is very nice school students but not all of them are. I like there are so many different students from different countries that amazing to all of the diversity at my school I gave thanks to all of the ESL teachers at Belmont for helping students learn English. the principal for trying to make sure all of the last year and this year seniors to stay on track and making ways for them to graduate from high =school the programs there are great after school actives andgreat athletes.
