Good school. Has problems with allowing students to pursue higher levels of education. Students cannot challenge themselves academically, without being recommended by a teacher. This recommendation is usually bias. Also, if a student does not do well in placement exams they are locked into a system that does not allow them to take honors or AP classes. If said student does manage to take such classes, they must work 2x as hard as those already placed in those classes. School environment could be better, with more activities voted on by students. ASB could do more to improve school events (dances, celebrations, etc.) Efforts are being made to improve diversity, inclusion, and overall school culture, but has a long road ahead. Thank you!
Review Bellarmine Preparatory School
Bellarmine Preparatory School is a private, Jesuit high school that primarily focuses on preparing students for college, along with promoting the student to becoming a better person once they graduate. This is done by following the 5 Grad-at-Grads, which is aimed towards being: opened to growth, intellectually competent, loving, committed to justice, and religious. The school encourages students to push and challenge themselves in order to seek out their true potential and capabilities in life. Students who attend Bellarmine are often diligent and dedicated in their academics or activities. The school also provides a great sense of community and diversity, where we are all united to treat one another with love and openness.
At Bellarmine, I have been able to compare my Protestant faith to the Catholic faith. I learned many things about the Catholic Church, and I have been able to take parts of their traditions and apply them to my faith and relationship with Jesus. Also, the quality of education at Bellarmine is stellar. I have absolutely loved every single one of my teachers and have been able to develop my maturity, motivation, and critical thinking through the challenging atmosphere around me. If I could change something at Bellarmine, it would be to slightly lessen the weekly load of homework. Bellarmine distinguishes itself as a highly challenging academic environment, however, I feel that there is often an excessive amount of homework. If they gave a slightly lesser load, the rigor of the school would not be degraded, but the students would have more time to get proper sleep or work on other things such as college applications.
