In my four years of attending Bedford Academy I appreciate the sense of community present at this school. Being a school with only 300-350 scholars, you are recognized by teachers and peers without a doubt. There is always a teacher willing to go that extra mile in helping with academics or advice for any personal obstacles. I also admire their love and appreciation for African American culture. As students of color we are constantly reminded that we matter and shown the successes of people that look just like us. The only thing I wish that was better for my school would be better representation and importance to extracurricular activities.

Bedford focuses solely on the academic enrichment and advancement of its students. They ensure that their scholars are ahead of the game academically and have a competitive advantage by utilizing their partnerships with surrounding colleges like Monroe College, St. Joseph's College, Medgar Evers College, and LIU. When students take their course they receive a number of college credits ready to be transferred to their desired institutions.
I love my school! Although, the school is very small and has a limited amount of resources, the teachers and staff ensure that all students recieve the education that they deserve. The school is very welcoming and the community is very friendly.
