Let's first start with the good news, Bear Creek is one of the most diverse schools in California, and possibly the entire United States. Where according to Niche, it is ranked thirteen in most diverse high schools in California. To champion that, we have a multitude of cultural clubs including: TLC (Thai, Laos, Cambodian), JCKC (Japanese, Chinese, Korean), Hmong, Viet, BC-Latinos, Punjabi Junction, Kaba, Polynesian, and African club. You are also sure to see a large amount of effort by those who run the club councils and ASB in rallies, club rush, etc. In addition, (other than during the rainy season) since it is an outdoor campus, you are sure to have a decent walk. Now for the worst parts, the restrooms are extremely disgusting. For example, there has been a feces stain on the restroom ceiling for practically a whole year by now that has never been cleaned. That, complimented with the fact that you are not allowed to go to the restroom 10 minutes before and after class.
I loved Bear Creek! Most of the teachers were always willing to help, our athletics program is awesome, student government works extremely hard to make events worthwile, and all of the culture clubs have been super fun to partake in.
My overall experience at Bear Creek was excellent, I have came across a lot of supportive teachers, staff and my counselor. The students are nice for the majority, it is highschool so there is a few people that aren’t that nice and I’m sure it’s like that for any other high school . The classes were manageable and I was able to do sports and clubs . The amount of clubs that we have on campus is amazing especially for it being student ran. Many students are athletes and I was able to meet new people through sports. Although are sports aren’t always the best we still never back down. We all stick together when needed such as when a new dress code was enforced which was targeted towards females. We all stood up against this cause and came up with many solutions to get it changed or revised. I liked my experience and I will miss being at Bear Creek even if I only got to experience 2 and a half years there because of covid.
