From Baylor School

Baylor's mission is to foster in its students both the ability and the desire to make a positive difference in the world. Our community includes boarding students from 12 countries, 23 states, and 89 U.S. cities, who attend classes with students from 49 schools in the Chattanooga area.

Our commitment to coeducation links directly to our commitment to leadership and diversity. Learning with people from different cultures and backgrounds broadens our students' views and prepares them for the real world.

We offer a liberal arts curriculum with an emphasis on providing students a broad breadth of offerings along with opportunities to go deep into specialized areas such as Global Scholars, Civic Scholars, advanced science and engineering research, the study of multiple languages and advanced study in the arts and humanities.

Our athletic program was recently ranked #3 in the nation by MaxPreps, and our alumni network impresses -- from Pulitzer Prize winners to PGA pros.

I love Baylor! I enjoy the smaller class size, extracurricular activities and the support that I have on campus and in my living learning dorm. I have made many friends. The campus is easy to get around - no need for bus or really even a bike. I love the excitement on campus and the school spirit - Sic'Em Bears! I have enjoyed my classes especially the leadership classes. My professors always make time for students and the have many academic resources on campus to assist with homework and your classes. They also provide resources for personal support if needed. Everyone at Baylor wants you to succeed! It is easy to get involved in various activities and I have enjoyed many football games, basketball games and volley ball games.

Being a boarder at the Baylor School, I have almost a completely different experience than a day student. I feel like I am definitely prepared for college without a doubt. Baylor has given me so many opportunities that I will forever be grateful for. The English department is the absolute best! The food in the dining hall is actually really good, and there are many options everyday. However, in my opinion, Baylor is still lacking in diversity. If the school were to have a more diverse student body and staff then it would be 10/10. If there was also more promotion in the arts department that would be awesome. There are talented students in every area, so less focus on just sports(aka football) and more focus on everyone’s accomplishments as a whole would be better.
The Baylor school has an exceptional academic curriculum and all students are encouraged to participate in some after school activity. My daughter has been enriched by the academic program that includes an array of AP and Honors courses for students desiring an extra challenge. We found the campus to be beautiful, safe and engaging for the students and parents. The administration is committed to setting standards and expectations on which they hold the students accountable.
