First of all, I love the inclusivity and diversity here. It’s amazing the amount of inclusion and respect each student receives, and that’s what I love about Baxter. However, I feel lied to. I enrolled at Baxter because I was told many times that it is a “rigorous, college prepatory high school”, and I was looking for a more challenging academic experience. If I’ve learned one thing in the past few weeks I’ve spent here, it’s that Baxter is neither rigorous, college prepatory, nor flexible when it comes to high-achieving students. At this point, I would rather be at my old school, which is in no way praised for its academics, because it appears to be more challenging. I am in not dissuading anyone from attending Baxter, as the community there is amazing, but if you are interested in this school because of its academics, look elsewhere.

Since all the other high schools in my area are not up to my standards, I decided to come here. I loved my freshman and sophomore year, however, unfortunately, with the recent administration changes, I feel disappointed, let down, unsatisfied, and unhappy. The administration is not as involved as most would expect. THey are not able to control the hallways and some of the students. I hope the school is able to bounce back from these recent changes and be able to grow.
Baxter Academy of Technology is a reasonably good school. Flexibility is one of it's most redeeming qualities; teachers are very understanding of students busy schedules and are willing to work will the student to make a plan that will fit their needs. The school is also relatively self-led learning based, which for some students can be a very beneficial learning style, but can also hinder more structured learners, which has been a problem in the past.
