Battle Ground High School, the largest of two high schools within the Battle Ground School District, is the school in which I currently attend. Having transferred from another district, I am relatively disappointed with the capabilities of this district. With a month long strike to start the year, the district continually faces economic hardship, straining the already strained schools. This school also has the lowest attendance rate within Washington State, as related to me by teachers.

I only attended one year (my freshman year) at Battle Ground High School but I've been involved with their extra-curricular activities for over four years. Academics wise, Battle Ground is pretty average. The teachers are very passionate about their subjects with only a few exceptions. Programs such as sports and band are well supported and are really geared towards student inclusion and participation. The music program, in particular, is excellent and a staple of the school. Besides the band, the jazz band is one of the best around and is the crowning star of Battle Ground's extracurriculars. Overall, Battle Ground is a pretty average high school academics-wise where you'll more likely than not find teachers genuinely interested in what they're teaching, but it's after school hours when BGHS really shines.
Battle Ground High School has great teachers that are will to help you succeed. The programs that the school offers are diverse and unique for schools in the area. They offer great classes like, video, black and white photography, digital photography, 3D animation, drama, and lots of other great classes. Battle Ground also offers one of the best Horticulture programs around and the annual plant sale is amazing to go to. One of the few downsides to this school is the lay out of the school can be incredibly confusing to parents and new students. The school atmosphere is also poor, there isn't a great deal of peer support and bullying happens offen in the halls. There is typically a group of studnets in this school who show rude behavior to people of color and other ethnicities which makes for an uncomfortable experiance.
