Basis Oro Valley opens the doors for endless opportunities! It's great to watch the children grow so fast right before your eyes. If you want your child challenged, this is where they need to start at a young age. Staff is friendly and assist on the development of the children.
BASIS Oro Valley lives up to its title of being a challenging school, there is definitely a benefit to the rigorous academics that being that it prepares one for college by forcing one to develop good study and work habits. However, there is clear favoritism shown by administration to certain students, and also stereotyping. The administration does not make an effort to get a fair view of each group of freshman, sophomores, junior's, and seniors, which results in many lectures to the entire group rather than talking to the two students they are talking to, they don't want to single people out, but they end up wasting our class and study time with "community" events. Other than administration, BASIS does a good job at preparing students for college, and the teachers are great and always willing to help their students.
BASIS is exactly what you would expect. The school offers great academics, accelerated programs, proficient teachers, and great resources for college. However, in terms of funding, sports, and social opportunities, it is lacking. BASIS is definitely geared towards a certain type of student who is willing to spend the majority of their time doing school work.
