I went to BASIS from 8th-10th grade. This school is very meticulous and unforgiving on its students and functions very similarly to that of a business. However despite that, this school will definitely teach you how to study effectively, how to maximize what you are learning, and give a general appreciation education. The environment is HIGHLY COMPETITIVE here! I currently go to Purdue university, and in my opinion attending BASIS is equally as stressful as attending a credited university. If you are coming to this school it is highly recommended that you have an established work ethic, and that it was your choice to come to this school. Remember this school is #3 in the nation, so do not take this school lightly and be prepared to work hard. Further more this school does not ensure that you go to a good college- it ensures that you go to college. With that being said if you are going to this school good luck!

I've attended this school for 8 years, and I'm relieved to say that I'll have lots of time for extracurricular activities in college. BASIS has done a wonderful job of preparing its students for college and beyond. The subjects taught isn't overwhelming as long as one is willing to put in the work. If a student is struggling there's always a teacher that's willing to help. While there are many students that are daunted by the required courses; you won't regret it once you've finished high school.
The curriculum is very well-advanced with lots of AP/Honor classes. This school will likely get you ready for college because of the preparations that teachers provide. The environment is very friendly; we all treat each other like family. Teachers are like our parents and students are like siblings. The older grade gets along well with the younger grades; there is rarely any type of bullying. We also hold lots of fun school events that gets everyone involved, including parents. Overall, Basis Oro Valley is a place where everyone is there to support and help each other when there are hardships with (for example) grades or social situations. But due to all the support we can get, Basis Oro Valley is a community full of prosperous opportunities and learning experiences.
