I had a great time there for my freshman through senior year of high school. I was able to learn a lot of interesting material in different subjects through the classes and clubs, especially in stem-related courses. My teachers were incredibly supportive and very capable in helping me understand the material. They utilized an office-hour system where I could receive extra help before and after class. The class sizes were also small for me so I was always able to get help from them after school or during class when I needed it. My favorite clubs where the Brain Bee (Neuroscience), Science Bowl(Science and Math), Board Game, and Jazz Band Clubs. I was also an active member in our charter of the National Honors Society. The courseload was demanding at first but I learned to adapt and succeed with the coursework. I also was able to work on a senior high school project where I could research and present on therapeutic virtual reality.

The BASIS curriculum is highly regarded for good reason. BASIS schools top these rankings for good reason. BASIS prepares students efficiently, extensively, and effectively. The graduates it produces could rival those from any top ranked school anywhere in this country. The data supports that. But, more importantly, the people that belong to this community will have the greatest impact on a student that could be hoped for. The students and teachers aren’t just a well oiled academic machine. Their brilliance and insight will always surprise anyone that is lucky enough to know them intimately. The administration is flawed, and that produces challenges. However, if you truly want a place where your student will reach their full potential this is it. They will receive an education that is stimulating and generates well rounded and perceptive individuals that are ready and determined to succeed.
The staff and admin are amazing. The curriculum is rigorous and the teachers are always available to help the students. As a senior, BASIS Mesa offers a college counseling class which helps tremendously about college applications and decreases my stress about school.
