BASIS Chandler is a Rigorous AP-based Charter school. The curriculum is very demanding of students and requires hard work. I have been a student at BASIS Chandler for 6 years and though I have found my journey to be tough, I love the intense academic opportunities I have been provided with. The students are all dedicated to learning more and expanding upon their future, and our consistent competition to stay in the top ranks has led BASIS Chandler to be a great school for any persevering student to attend.

BASIS Chandler is a very rigorous, academically oriented school specifically designed to prepare a student for an education in a STEM major and a career in STEM fields. We more focused on math and science related careers. It is lacking in interest (but not rigor) in areas like language arts and literature. Sports are not as important as they are in a typical public high school. Our high school dances could be better. We are a very diverse group of people. I have never seen a case of bullying. We are a very close knit community and we support each other in our lives. If your child wants to meet new people from various faiths and ethnic backgrounds, possess the tools essential for a career in STEM, become and befriend the future leaders of the scientific world, and has the maturity to not base their decision on whether or not a school has an out of order soap dispenser, it's the right choice.
This school prepares you well for a pursuit in STEM degrees. On the other hand, the arts are underfunded and treated as unimportant. Concerts and plays are rarely advertised during the morning announcements, and showings at these are abysmal at best. However, if you have no interest in the arts whatsoever, BASIS has strong science and math programs, and it could be a good fit for you.
