BASIS Chandler is a very rigorous, academically oriented school specifically designed to prepare a student for an education in a STEM major and a career in STEM fields. We more focused on math and science related careers. It is lacking in interest (but not rigor) in areas like language arts and literature. Sports are not as important as they are in a typical public high school. Our high school dances could be better. We are a very diverse group of people. I have never seen a case of bullying. We are a very close knit community and we support each other in our lives. If your child wants to meet new people from various faiths and ethnic backgrounds, possess the tools essential for a career in STEM, become and befriend the future leaders of the scientific world, and has the maturity to not base their decision on whether or not a school has an out of order soap dispenser, it's the right choice.
Review BASIS Chandler
There is a vast amount of various extracurricular activities present at Basis Chandler. Red Cross, Key Club, Speech and Debate Club, Mock Trial Club, and Academic Decathlon are all important clubs in this school. There are extracurriculars consisting of chess club, varsity and junior varsity basketball and volleyball, etc. These extracurriculars provide the students with a sense of leadership and other beneficial qualities that may allow the students to prosper in the future. As helpful as the extracurriculars are, they are also entertaining and interesting to the students
BASIS Chandler truly prepares students for college with it's rigorous curriculum, by making students take AP classes by 8th grade. Really tough school, but good teachers. The organization is not the best, and the focus on academics means less focus on sports/arts. Students often have heaps of HW, but that's college prep right there.
