BASIS Ahwatukee, though focused on college preparation, does not provide optimal education with its constant teacher turnover rate, preventing students from connecting with the teachers. Additionally, the lack of administrative oversight on the students' safety is alarming and needs to be addressed. However, this school does provide a unique community where students will create families and memories of a lifetime.

We have changed over our son from a private school to basis last year to begin his 5th grade. Every teacher he has had so far has been extremely efficient and highly successful with educating our son. He has been overwhelmed with homework at times, but they have also properly prepared him to handle it. I would recommend this school only to a family that has a child ready and willing to go the extra mile, because curriculum is about 3 years ahead of standard education from what I’ve seen with tests and homework. My son started the 6th grade this year and to get an example of the quality, he is going into a second year of Latin, chemistry, physics, and learning the violin. I’m pretty impressed to say the least. English and math are also equivalent to a standard schools honor program +1 grade level.
I genuinely did enjoy how nice the teacher were and the fact that they maintained such close relations with their students. They have an amazing drama department that I enjoyed working with. Their admin however is very unfair and and shows bias to a certain group of students. The classes there are very heavy. To be honest, going to this school takes a lot from a general high school experience and they don't offer much extracurriculars, but if you are looking for a AP oriented school with strong support system from teachers then this is the way to go.
