Baruch is a small close with a close welcoming knit community. The school has a rigorous challenging curriculum which is something you should want, you definitely learn how to manage your time and balance multiple assignments at once. The school definitely challenges you academically and pushes you more than the average New York Public school, you are required to take math and science all four years and do a minimum of 20 hours of community service of your choice. You graduate with more credits than the average New York Public school student. Socially the school is great, theres no really divided groups, everyone is included. The staff and students work hard at trying to make all cultures feel accepted.

I really felt the benefits of the small school environment. I did not think it was going to work for me at first but within the first two weeks of my freshman year I got to know almost everyone in the entire school. Furthermore, I really like how the teachers are really involved in not just your academics but they also like getting to know the students and help students reach for the stars. Whenever, you need advice from an adult, most students will know at least a handful of teachers that they feel comfortable going to talk to. There is also no bullies at Baruch. In my four years at Baruch, I have never encounter or heard of a bullying situation going on. At Baruch, it is like one big happy family where every kid feels safe and comfortable.
There are many great teachers at Baruch, and the academics are solid. However, the English department is a complete joke. Don't expect teachers to teach practical reading and writing skills for standardized tests. Instead, the curriculum for all 4 years will consist of social justice indoctrination even if it is an AP level course . Also, there is absolutely minimal diversity of thought. If you are conservative or even centrist, just keep your mouth shut during class discussions and blend in. Besides this, the small gym, and bad school food, the school is actually pretty good with great opportunities, such as the College Now classes at Baruch College.
