Bartram Trail High School Reviews
Rating 4.04 out of 5 556 reviews
Bartram Trail High School has fantastic teachers and staff who truly care about each of their student’s education. I have found that my teachers have pushed and challenged me in ways which have allowed me to grow and develop into a strong, hardworking, determined, and independent young woman. One of my teachers has been fighting cancer over the last year and she still never seems to let it affect how she interacts with each of her students and how willing she is to come in early or stay later if a student needs additional help. The school principal always stresses to leave everywhere you go better than you found it. I truly believe everyone at Bartram Trail tries their best to live this out. Also, the school brings a whole new meaning to family with overwhelming school spirit. So many alumni come back to support the athletics and arts programs because of the mindset that once you are a bear, you are always a bear!
My experience at Bartram Trail has been all-around phenomenal. For the large majority of the educators I've had at BTHS I can tell they genuinely care not just about their pupils but also have a passion for their subject. Being a student at Bartram Trail has allowed me to thrive academically and socially as the administration implements generally less-strict rules on the students that allow students to feel independent and therefore empowered to succeed. On the flip side, this approach has created a split between the students who take advantage of a laid-back system of discipline and the students who genuinely care about their education.
Overall the experience was adequate. However, some improvements can definitely be made in the Physics department as well as the academies. In my experience, the curriculum for many of my science classes were subpar, as much of our lab equipment was over 20 yrs old, and worked very poorly, if at all. Furthermore, many of the academy lacked opportunities, or only granted opportunities for a few students. In my experience the academy did not allow students to really get involved within the community. However, I believe many of the core classes did a great job allowing students to work together and get proper critique and assistance from teachers.
