Barstow High has a pretty diverse range of classes, especially with their new addition of French. There are 3 different gyms and 2 different workshops available during and after school generally for community use. Though the social environment is pretty tense with at least one fight every week. It's not all that bad though, if you stay on the low end of things then you wont be bothered.
As, a former student of BHS in summary it's an okay school has great teachers and classes can be fun and prepare you for college. Students are both either nice or fun but can treat you like an outcast but their always up to meet the new students. Just stay away from the gangs and drugs. Other than that everything is good just would suggest better admin, much better librarians, more resources, remodel, get new water fountains, and better food, but if you other options I would suggest them if it ain't working out try out Excelsior, Riverside Prep, or Silver Valley High or just move to another town.
Hello , my name is ZaCori Horton and I've been attending Barstow High School for 3 years .My experience at Barstow High School is still ongoing process, since I am a junior . It has gotten better over the years of me attending . What I will say is that, Barstow High could do a lot better when it comes to promoting self care and or mental health . The campus really doesn't provide anything to deal with our mental health . They only thing they provide is a counselor and even then they really do not do a good job of supporting you through whatever it is that you might be going through at the moment . I just would love if they spread a lot more positive energy among the students and staff on the campus and to just know , as a student , that your school is here for you mentally and academically .
