Barry Goldwater is one of eight IB schools, where students can earn a diploma for taking rigorous and comprehensive honors classes, which are specifically designed for academically talented students. Goldwater offers many unique courses that other schools don’t offer. For example, one of our most successful programs is Culinary Arts. As of 2019, a functioning restaurant was built (Avenue 27) to expand and enlighten students interests on the career of cooking. Furthermore, I’m thankful for the many amazing teachers that have gone out of their way to aid me in my success. To continue, if I was to alter anything about the school, I would like the principal to set stricter cellphone rules. Although every school has their faults and their successes, I truely believe that Goldwater is a great place for any student who is eager for an education. I’m flattered to have spent my four years as a Bulldog and wish nothing but the best to the future students of Barry Goldwater High School!

My experience at Barry Goldwater High School has been unique to say the least. I attended a college prep charter middle school before deciding where I would attend high school. I figured that my years in this middle school would over prepare me for my new high school experiment; however, I was pleasantly surprised to hear about our advanced IB program. This program has kept my academic learning high while also providing me with a new friends that also have the same work ethic and learning asperations that I've acquired. On the other side, I am also a varsity athlete and play three different sports: basketball, football, and volleyball. I have no complaints about the time I have spent within these sports teams. Every coach has treated me with respect and always tried to teach me the bigger picture of how sports teaches us life lessons along with how to win. Overall I am very happy with my experience as a Barry Goldwater High School student.
Barry Goldwater High School can be quite a fun experience depending on the type of student you plan on being before enrolling. Overall, the school is a great choice all-around and any student will have a good time both in and outside of school if enrolled. Barry Goldwater is mostly known for its Internation Baccalaureate (IB) program, a program that very few schools within Arizona have. The program helps students with college readiness by providing more challenging courses for the students involved. This course is optional, however, and many students are fine with the regular academic program Barry Goldwater provides.

An issue with the school would be its lack of funding, teachers, and resources. If just one teacher ceases their employment at the school, it may take a while (sometimes the entire school year) to provide a new teacher in their place. The lack of funds also means the school can get a bit dirty, but overall BGHS is a pick for any student that wants an average education.
