Barry Goldwater is one of eight IB schools, where students can earn a diploma for taking rigorous and comprehensive honors classes, which are specifically designed for academically talented students. Goldwater offers many unique courses that other schools don’t offer. For example, one of our most successful programs is Culinary Arts. As of 2019, a functioning restaurant was built (Avenue 27) to expand and enlighten students interests on the career of cooking. Furthermore, I’m thankful for the many amazing teachers that have gone out of their way to aid me in my success. To continue, if I was to alter anything about the school, I would like the principal to set stricter cellphone rules. Although every school has their faults and their successes, I truely believe that Goldwater is a great place for any student who is eager for an education. I’m flattered to have spent my four years as a Bulldog and wish nothing but the best to the future students of Barry Goldwater High School!
Barry Goldwater high school is where I spent my Sophomore, Junior, & Senior year of high school. Most of my teachers have always been really supportive and the counselors genuinely seemed to want to help us succeed. The best part without a doubt, was the Culinary program & in school, student run, restaurant. With the great teachings of the chefs there I am on my way to reach my dream goals in the restaurant industry. Even through c*v*d*9, they managed to create a comfortable, yet successful environment to teach students. As of my senior year however, the quality of the school has dropped a tad bit due to kids stealing things around the school like paper towel dispensers, signs, & other bothersome items. Overall, I think it’s a great school with an especially exceptional culinary program.
The international baccalaureate program is great! All of the students in the program share classes together throughout all four years and it becomes like a family. There are also a lot of clubs and other opportunities to become involved on campus.
