My experience at BHS is pretty average. I'm a stand-up guy and I'm passing all my classes with impressive marks, but there's a lot of negativity here. Safety is my main concern. Police officers walk around and although a lot of them are nice (don't get me wrong), some have nasty attitudes and give you the impression that maybe they woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Academics are average, nothing really special about them, and the teachers who teach these classes can be really snobby at times. You have to find the ones who make you want to come to school to make it through the day. Also, the workload is rough. I remember being in CP and getting up to five packets to complete a night! I'm in AP and Honors now so I get it, but back then it was so overwhelming, especially as a lower classmen. I feel like the teachers who are too lazy to teach their students anything just hand out packets and mark it as a grade. This isn't really preparing us for college.

Barnegat High School provides an environment that is fun, friendly, and educational. The teachers and administration are very helpful and polite. There are many different courses and classes to take at Barnegat High. The high school also has almost any sport to participate in and has a large variety of clubs. The school hosts events like Rumble in the Jungle, which is a bunch of fun events combined into a competition between grades, school plays and musicals produced by the drama club, and concerts performed by the school band. The school spirit is great, there are many attendees at things like football games, school dances, the school fashion show, plays, concerts, games, and club events.
This school has an inept administration. They put into place policies that are to the detriment of the students and staff. The school lacks resources/funds to have adequate equipment and supplies. There are little options in terms of class choice. However, more often than not the teachers employed at the school are competent and beyond. They do the best with what's given to them, generally speaking. All other aspects of the school are mediocre or worse. I would not recommend attendance as a student, or employment as a staff member. It needs major changes to the culture and practices there in order to be a viable destination.
