I think this is a great high school in all honesty. It offers exciting and interesting courses that no other Cleveland Metropolitan School District school offers. It also offers an associates degree in liberal arts and it does take some effort but the reward in the end is like no other. The teachers are fantastic and are willing to go above and beyond for their students and their experiences. The curriculum is very interesting and engaging. The arts program is especially great. There are always events on campus that acknowledge different cultures, customs, and ways of life.
I really enjoyed the programs at Bard Early College and the connections you make in a smaller more close-knit school environment. Although the school is situated in an older building, the classes are engaging and interesting and you have something to bond over with your peers. Especially because of our smaller school size, you get the chance to speak to every single one of your instructors, and then some. I often remember if I'm struggling or I could use some help answering a few questions, there was always a teacher with their door open. Alongside that, the extracurricular programs may come short, but teachers are always willing to help you create new clubs to suit your student interests. Overall, I think there could be more focus on some STEM related fields, as well as improvements made on situating students towards college; but I can attribute the lack of these to this past year's pandemic. This is a great school for students who learn the best one-on-one and enjoy smaller classes.
Bard Early College is a unique mix of a college education in a high school atmosphere. With a heavy emphasis on the liberal arts, Bard pushes for students and faculty to think outside of the box, creating and discovering answers for the unknown philosophical conundrums, and reaching new and unexplored educational limits.
