I have been a student at Barbourville for the past 6 years. The teachers and students helped with my transition in any way they could. I have been involved in sports and other activities which have allowed me to experience first hand with all of the staff at Barbourville. Every member of the staff at Barbourville is there to help every student in any way they can. Our superintendent supports every sports team, she attends every game that she can. Our principal interacts with every student, making the environment at our school a happy place. Our teachers all think of student safety first, the different precautions that each teacher has taken to be sure all students are safe is very comforting.

At my school we have less students, classes, staff and etc. Therefore, everyone knows everyone. Most student are 2nd generations. For example, if you ever visit my school you will quickly find that a lot of the teachers have went to high school with some of student's parents and/or have taught the student(s') sibings/cousins/nieces and nephews. Most students have went to Barbourville their whole school career. Therefore, is no way of feeling left out! In my opinion, for the most part, everyone is close; kind of like our own little family!
I liked the close environment of my school and how everyone is like a family, but I also disliked that because you have no other friend options except the people in your class because it's a very small school.
