This school offers a challenging IB curriculum, competitive sports and clubs, a diverse student body, and amazing opportunities to make connections and gain experiences you won't find anywhere else. Other than preparing its students for college and the world beyond a secondary education, the Barack Obama Academy prides itself on motivating its students explore different kinds of passions and potential career fields with a wide variety of activities, clubs, and events. I have met so many wonderful people, both students and staff, that have helped guide me to where and who I am now. I plan to keep these connections and use the knowledge I've gained throughout my time at this school with whatever life throws my way. As our main school motto states, "Nothing in life is so complicated that it cannot be achieved by discipline and hard work."

I currently attend this school and this school is a college preparatory school and by the eleventh grade, you will start to take classes that will prepare you to go to college. You also get the opportunity to take the IB test where you would be able to take a test to be able to get college credits. The schools diversity is also a big part as to why the school is so good. The diversity also allows you meet new people from all over the world.
I have been attending Barack Obama Academy of International Studies since the 6th grade. During my time here I have noticed many positive but also negative things regarding academics, administration, teachers, and just the school overall. One extremely positive aspect about this school is that it has an IB curriculum. Being involved the International Baccalaureate program has really taught me differently than most public schools and has put me ahead of most high school students throughout the state. But one negative has been the Administration. Of course our Administration is extremely involved with the students but there have been many cases where they should have either reacted differently or taken a different route rather than what they chose. But overall, my experience with Barack Obama Academy of International Studies has been positive. This school has really brought me out of my shell and has prepared me for my future beyond high school.
