My experience while attending Ballston Spa High School was an overall good one. Throughout my entire high school career, I have found myself with very good teachers in most of my classes, and in the AP classes I have attended I've had good experiences with all of them. Going to the sports games and plays that the school puts on has also been enjoyable. The school also makes sure parents are involved and updated with not only their child's grades, but also upcoming opportunities for them. The trait about my school I've appreciated the most is getting ready for college, the guidance counselors set up many college activities and update all students on Schoology for upcoming college events. My counselor in Mrs.Knapp has been specifically helpful in answering all college questions my and my parent have.
I had a good experience at BSpa High School. They offer a lot of programs for all different kinds of kids from special needs to full IB for those who want that experience. They have a lot of clubs that kids can join such as Odyssey of the Mind, Physics Club, Troupe, Band, Orchestra and more. The sports programs that I was involved in were awesome and there was great support from the Athletic Department. There is something at Ballston Spa High School for everyone!
Ballston Spa High School offers the International Baccalaureate program, which most schools don't offer. All of the teachers that teach classes in this program are amazing at their jobs. This increases the extent to what I can learn and my want to learn. This program also greatly improves my chances of exceeding at college next year.
A large problem with our school is the lack of diversity. Because of this they're are a lot of white people that think it is okay to say things like the "n-word" during school. The teachers that are not involved in the IB program tend to be mediocre. This means that if you are not willing to take on the work load of IB or AP you will most likely get stuck with a teacher who doesn't know how to teach.
