A schools environment is a crucial component of learning it can influence how well a student learns. Ballard provides a safe environment to nurture and grow emotionally, behaviorally and academically. Ballard High School is a place where I not only get educated but also have an opportunity to learn competitive skills like sports, music and art.
Ballard’s atmosphere is very pleasant it offers a strong feeling of security with the strict adherence to discipline. School safety has been a big concern for almost all school districts across the nation in recent years. The majority of the staff prides itself on being efficient, the openness to embrace principles of inclusion; equity and diversity lessen the effects of the outside community violence and keep the inside of our school violence free.
Ballard overall is great school!

Ballard overall is great school!
I am a recent graduate of Ballard High School and I love this school. I was challenged every year with difficult classes and prepared for AP exams. The school is diverse, and students are encouraged to speak up and provide input to administrators and staff. Athletics and the Arts are highly regarded and students are given freedom to create their own paths and work with their counselors to find what works best for them. I feel prepared for the next four years at college and beyond!
Ballard High School has gave me the opportunity to experience diversity. I grew up in a neighborhood that has a majority of an African American race. Throughout the past two years, I’ve learned a lot about different cultures and religions. Now I know that stereotypes are not always true and people shouldn’t be judged based on their skin color or religion. I’ve also got to experience working with people with disabilities. I take a class called “peer tutoring” and it’s focuses on helping people that are disabled. I tutor a boy named Alex, he is nonverbal and autistic. I’ve been helping him learn to communicate through technology. We use apps to learn sign language and create sentences with verbal translations on his Ipad. Working and bonding with Alex has been the highlight of my year and I think every student should be able to experience diversity.
