Despite the welcoming, home-town atmosphere, this small town has a very dominantly conservative community. Making it beyond difficult to find common ground as a liberal. While I've attended the high school, tragedy left the school in shackles, leaving the already corrupt school high and dry. The controversy surrounding a few of our teachers even led some of our students to drop out. The staff are not treated very well, as they are restricted money-wise, and ideology-wise. We do not get to experience the conventional high school experience with security guards and policemen at every corner.

Aztec High school was a good school for a small town, the atmosphere was always good and the teachers always tried to be the best that they can be. The staff were always so friendly with each other and the students. The only time you would have problem with them is if you were disrespecting them. This school definitely helped with my grades and my self respect.
What i like about Aztec High School is the connection with the teachers and students, they are all friendly and helpful when it comes to graduation or getting ready for college. A change i would like to see is more involvement from students. It is so easy to get in contact with teachers if you need help and also the councilors are great and helpful as well as inspiring.
