I do look forward to the several emails that come to us from the teachers - usually at the beginning, middle and close of each quarter. It helps to gauge where your child is and some of the goals that the teacher sees for your child. I have also received many kind emails regarding just misc. items at school - for example, my son helped another teacher without being asked to provide music for a party that he was throwing his daughter. He wrote to my husband and I to explain the situation and how impressed he was with how our child just stepped up to the plate and helped, making his party a huge success. Another email I received was from the cook at the school who asked for my email to say thank you for the fact that my boy always helped clear dishes even when not needed. Just people making a difference, and noticing him when he has made a difference. It makes us feel like he is at home and letting us know in this type of impromptu communication has been wonderful!

The best in All-Boys Education. You will learn lessons as valuable in the classroom as you do outside of it (ie. on the field, on the stage, in social interactions). I spent five years at Avon Old Farms and played lacrosse, wrestled, ran cross country, played soccer, headed several clubs, and was the head of an on-campus dorm. The easy access to teachers provides students with every opportunity to access the academic resources necessary for success. The time spent off at Avon Old Farms will pay off in the long run for college success.
Excellent facilities, challenging classes taught in small groups of 8-18 students, teachers who are invested in student learning and success, great food. While I only spent one year as PG, I feel very fortunate to have attended AOF.
