I feel victimized by certain teachers. Having small facial piercings, most teachers put their input about my face. One teacher told me I was trashy for having a tongue piercing. They hurt my self esteem and I only feel like some are there to make money and judge others. A lot of the teachers also incorporate religion into their teachings. It's annoying. My chemistry teacher also shared her views on homosexuality, and said it was wrong because the "plumbing doesn't match" I feel like instead of getting an education, I am going to church.

I do not think I know one student who is not an athlete as well. Everyone I know participates in at least one sport. Avery County High School is a 1A school and considering we do pretty well in athletics. Our school support is awesome, just last week we had a Silent Night Game and a teddy toss and everyone participated. There are a lot of fans as well. Everyone who was born in Avery County normally stays in Avery County and always consider Avery County High School part of their life and support us accordingly. Overall I would say that Avery County High School's athletics are great!
After coming to this school for the short four years of my life, I have been through a lot that the school does not care about. AT ALL. I feel less important than most. I feel like my education is less important than someone that plays basketball or has more money in their bank account. Teachers are cruel and I have developed social anxiety because of their harsh judgement. I feel like religion is a big factor of this school. I am openly atheist, and it does not suit most teachers here. I feel like the only thing I have learned at Avery High School is that I really hate the south. Discrimination and the fear of God is all in this school.
